CARDIFF
Overview
Cardiff is the capital of Wales and infinitely proud of it. What’s
refreshing for visitors after forays into self-deprecating England is the Welsh’s casually
confident sense of pride: not just of their city or of their language, or even of their
legendary castle, but mostly of their sports teams. The colossal Millenium Stadium, which
stands as a spectacularpiece of the city skyline, is symbolic of Cardiffians’ fierce
sports fanaticism.
Cardiff is known as“Europe’s Youngest Capital.” What its residents lack in
number, however, they make up for in youthful spirit and vigor.
