ANDROS TOWN

Overview

Andros Town, more commonly known as Chora (pronounced like the dance you did at your friend’s bar mitzvah), is perhaps the least touristy place tourists frequent in the Cyclades. Though the town, comprised of one main stone-paved street, certainly has its dose of tourist-targeted tavernas, locals are seen breaking bread in these eateries as frequently as the foreigners. The three museums in Andros Town make it something of a cultural mecca for an island known for its sand and not its history. Be sure to take an hour and make the cultural rounds before settling down by the gentle waves.
