Orientation

The town of Koufonisia can be walked end to end in 5min.—that is, this island and its town are small. Looking out on the water, Koufonisia’s port is on the far right. The road that runs from the port behind the centrally located sand beach of Ammos runs all the way to the left (when looking at the water) and continues on to many other beaches. The island’s main street is on the right side of Ammos’ sand. The stone road is spotted with tavernas and cafes, and it curves up to the left toward even more hotels and restaurants. To reach Pori beach, follow the paved road in the middle of Ammos beach away from the water, and turn right when the road stops perpendicular to another street. Follow the winding road, and you’ll reach the beach.
