Orientation
LAGOS
From the train and bus stations, the center of town will be a 10min. walk west. You’ll know you’re there when you see the children’s carousel and clothing shops. From there, the center of town is a labyrinth of winding streets that can be confusing, but the entire area is so tiny you’re bound to find your bearings fast. A little past the center of town (about a 2min. walk) is the closest and most packed beach, Batata. To get to more secluded beaches like beautiful Pinhão, walk along the cliff road and make your way down when you see direction signs. Alternatively, you can take the tiny ferry across the boat channel to Meia Praia, the area’s largest beach. Be sure to pick up a free Lagos map from your hostel.
