Orientation
MALAGA
The city center of Málaga is bordered by the Río Guadalmedina to the west, the Alameda Principal to the south, the Alcazaba and Catedral to the east, and Plaza de la Merced to the north. The main shopping and commercial part of the city, where you’ll also encounter many banks and ATMs, branches off around Calle Marqués de Larios. The primary sights generally cluster around Calle San Augustín and Calle Alcazabilla. You’ll find a strong selection of restaurants, bars, and clubs, generally populated by a younger crowd, near Plaza de la Merced and Calle Alamios. The Tunel Alcazaba will take you from Plaza de la Merced to the popular Malagueta Beach, or you can take a bus to the quieter, more family-oriented Padregalejo Beach.
