SEA OF GALILEE

Overview

If you’ve spent your life looking for a place with serene beaches, scenic trails, and sacred sights all in a neat circumference of 55km, you’ve come to the right place. Ok, so the Sea of Galilee isn’t actually a sea—whoever named it clearly wasn’t paying attention in high school geography—but rather a beautiful lake (also known as Kinneret). Although a few sights are farther afield, most are along its shores, guaranteeing a constantly gorgeous view of the region. This area is particularly popular with Christian pilgrims because Jesus spent some time here performing miracles and the like—though turning water into wine sounds more like enlightened chilling to us.
