"Everywhere Else" |
This was how my itinerary was described when I took the job of researching in Italy for Let's Go. Others had research routes that focused on a single city (Rome, Venice, or Florence) and its environs. I went to the "other" places, bouncing around the country's north before landing where I am now in very southern Naples.
Escaping Naples |
It's like a different world out here.
Who You Lookin' At? |
It took me all of about 15min. in Naples to discover the city's signature. No, it's not (just) trash. If my experience is at all indicative, it's the dirty look the people of Naples so expertly deliver.
Whose side are you on? |
Yesterday, walking down one of Bologna's main streets, I encountered two groups of thugs. One of the groups just happened to have badges.
I'm a sophomore concentrating in Social Studies (not fifth grade history, but a combination economics, government, sociology, etc.). This summer I'll be going to the north of Italy... and Naples, which, for the directionally challenged, is in the south. Though right now I don't speak a word of Italian, I'll be looking to learn as I try to find the best deals in the boot of Europe.
