Come for a picnic, a leisurely stroll, or a romantic lakeside rowboat ride at Barcelona’s central urban green, Parc de la Ciutadella.
Its main entrance in La Ribera is the Arc de Triomf. Not only will you be spending the day in the great outdoors, but you’ll get your daily dose of history, as this was the site of the Universal Exhibition of 1888. There is also a zoo, regional parliament, and several museums located in the park. Don’t miss the beautiful fountain with winged houses spewing water behind the lake, which apparently was one of Antoni Gaudí’s favorites.
